Austin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Austin Lighthouse <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Travis Association for the Blind<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Job Title: TESD Senior Manager<br \/>\nJob Category: Administration<br \/>\nDepartment\/Group: Administration<br \/>\nJob Code\/ Req#: 201574<br \/>\nLocation: 2307 Business Center Drive<br \/>\nTravel Required: N\/A<br \/>\nLevel\/Salary Range: 75k \u2013 85k<br \/>\nPosition Type: Full-Time<br \/>\nHR Contact: Janna Caddell<br \/>\nDate posted: October 1, 2015<br \/>\nPosting Expires: Open Until Filled<\/p>\n<p>Applications Accepted By:<\/p>\n<p><strong>FAX OR E-MAIL:<\/strong> (512) 445-6933 or janna.caddell@austinlighthouse.org<br \/>\nSubject Line: TESD Senior Manager<br \/>\nAttention: HR Department<\/p>\n<p><strong>MAIL:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Janna Caddell<br \/>\nHuman Resources | Travis Association for the Blind<br \/>\nPO Box 3297<br \/>\nAustin, TX 78764-3297<\/p>\n<p>Job Description<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Will manage the Training and Employee Services Department (TESD), a function of TAB providing training and employment support to people in a vocational setting who have low vision, are blind, deaf, deaf\/blind and others with multiple disabilities (our associates).<br \/>\n* Will interpret in a variety of settings and communication modes\/styles.<br \/>\n* Will provide moderately complex consultative and technical assistance to assist our associates.<br \/>\n* Will Consult with TWC and other service providers, and interact with employers to identify new employment opportunities in the community for our associates.<br \/>\n* Serve as point of contact for other entities that provide services to our associates.<br \/>\n* Consult with management to design and recommend procedural\/policy changes.<br \/>\n* Will foster cooperative relationships with those in the legally blind and deaf\/blind communities.<br \/>\n* Will keep apprised of developments affecting the deaf\/blind communities, such as assistive programs, and maintain involvement in the interpreting and deaf\/blind communities (may include some evenings and weekends).<br \/>\n* Other related work as directed.<br \/>\n* Occasional travel may be required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in rehabilitation, psychology, sociology, social work, education, or a related field is generally preferred.<\/p>\n<p>* Experience and education may be combined and evaluated to determine eligibility.<\/p>\n<p>* Must have thorough knowledge and skills to communicate using American Sign Language and other communication systems utilized by individuals who are deaf\/blind.<\/p>\n<p>* Minimum of three years of experience in working with people with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>* Has a membership in good standing with RID and adheres to their Code of Professional Conduct<\/p>\n<p>* Effective use of the Spanish language would be a plus.<\/p>\n<p>* Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office (MS word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>* Have experience, flexibility and comfort interpreting for Deaf\/Blind or Deaf Individuals who use ASL, TASL, English-like sign, or who have limited formal language and communicate using gestures, drawing or other means.<br \/>\n* Physically capable of using tactile sign language on a regular basis.<br \/>\n* Familiarity with PC based programs and software including MS Office Suite, Outlook Exchange and\u00a0experience with Excel highly preferred.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The incumbent must demonstrate the following skills:<\/p>\n<p>* Knowledge of adaptive equipment, devices and use of adaptive equipment available to assist\/benefit the consumers.<br \/>\n* Knowledge of report and record maintenance principles\/practices.<br \/>\n* Knowledge of preparation and delivery of training curriculum.<br \/>\n* Good time management skills<br \/>\n* Strong communication skills including verbal &amp;
