How do you talk about your work? What<br \/>\nquestions do you ask? What would other professional colleagues have to<br \/>\nsay about your work product? This collaborative session will afford<br \/>\nparticipants the opportunity to openly and freely talk about their<br \/>\nwork product. Feedback and mediated questioning designed to aid the <\/p>\n<p>interpreter with thinking about the processes of the texts as well as<br \/>\npeer-to-peer discussion will be the main format of the workshop.<br \/>\nFocused discussion may include: <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 How did you decide to formulate that sign combination for that<br \/>\nphrase? <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 At what point did you realize the semantic intent of the phrase<br \/>\nand choose to restructure your interpretation? <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Talk about the factors that led you to decide not to include that<br \/>\npart of the message in your final product. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Can you recall how many times classifiers were used in that<br \/>\nsegment of the discourse? <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Model texts may be taken from a variety of community-based<br \/>\ninterpreting situations. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 Sample interpretations may be requested from volunteers from the<br \/>\ngroup. <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2 And more! <\/p>\n<p>This workshop is designed to benefit a wide range of skills among<br \/>\ninterpreters. It is offered at the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153intermediate\u00e2\u20ac\u009d level. It is<br \/>\nrecommended that participants be comfortable speaking and signing for<br \/>\nthemselves in a large group environment.
