Guide By Your Side PROGRAM COORDINATOR<\/p>\n

The GBYS Program Coordinator is required to be a parent or guardian of a child who is deaf or hard of hearing in order to embody the Hands & Voices value of parent leadership. Specifically, this position will be responsible for the oversight of the Texas Guide By Your Side program, the parent-to-parent support activities provided by parent guides and support activities provided by Deaf and Hard of Hearing guides.<\/p>\n

Additionally, this position will be responsible for collaborating with appropriate agencies and organizations, networking among parents and various parent groups, and developing and implementing plans for the ongoing support needs of families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing in Texas. Guide By Your Side is a program based on the Hands & Voices philosophy of providing information in an unbiased manner to families and the Coordinator will collaborate with the Texas chapter of Hands & Voices to ensure a strong program partnership.<\/p>\n

Job Location: It is preferred that applicants reside in the greater Austin or Houston area. The work may require travel to Austin or Houston on a monthly basis. Applicants outside these areas may be considered based on qualifications.<\/p>\n

Required Hours: 20-25\/week
\nTarget Start Date: Nov 2, 2015
\nOccasional travel is required (15-20%)
\nPay Rate: $32\/HR<\/p>\n

NOTE: This is a contract position under the supervision of the Statewide Parent Liaison at the Educational Resource Center on Deafness and the TX H&V Executive Director. This position is grant-funded through ERCOD and is reviewed\/renewed annually. Continuation of this position is dependent on renewal of the grant.<\/p>\n
