This innovative workshop is specifically designed to help visual artists create a unique vision and strategic plan in jumpstarting their emerging and developing career in the arts.<\/p>\n<p>The Austin ArtWorks! workshop will be held at Women and Their Work Gallery located at 1710 Lavaca Street on Monday, September 25, 2006 and Tuesday, September 26, 2006 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (both days).  To register contact VSA arts of Texas at 512-454-9912 or april@vsatx.org.<\/p>\n<p>Registration deadline is September 22nd.  The workshop fee is $15 for lecture and materials and is open to artists with disabilities and members of Women and Their Work. Limited to 35 participants.<\/p>\n<p>ArtWorks! takes disability issues into special account, but is appropriate for any artist struggling to gain the information and knowledge of how to make a career in the arts happen.  Covering a variety of topics that include portfolio development, accessing galleries, marketing your work and copyright issues, this workshop is a must for any developing or emerging artist.  Using resources such as Putting Creativity to Work, a book published by VSA arts and the Social Security Administration, artists will learn how to access a career in the arts that is right for their lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>VSA arts of Texas is a non-profit organization that works to create a society where people with disabilities learn through, participate in, and enjoy the arts.
