WHAT: The Texas School for the Deaf\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s (TSD) First Annual Ranger
\nTriathlon — A USA Triathlon (USAT) sanctioned event, hosted by TSD
\nand Jack and Adam\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bicycles at the school\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s south Austin campus.
\nRegistration is open to all participants, age 7 and up, with various
\ndistance courses to appropriately match the age of the participant.
\nEvent proceeds will benefit TSD\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Physical Education Programs by
\nproviding needed equipment and program support. <\/p>\n
WHEN: Sunday April 27, 2008 <\/p>\n
Race time: 8:00 AM <\/p>\n
Transition area open for staging 6:30-7:30 AM <\/p>\n

WHY: TSD\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Ranger Triathlon aims to offer kids, as well as
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153first-timers\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, the opportunity to experience a multi-sport event
\nin a safe and positive environment, with the entire course enclosed
\nwithin TSD\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s campus. <\/p>\n
While competition is always a part of any race, it is not the primary
\nfocus of this event. The main objective is to promote a healthy,
\nphysically fit lifestyle as well as for participants, their families,
\nand the community to have FUN! <\/p>\n
Nick Bannon, Curriculum Specialist, and Eileen Barden, Staff
\nInterpreter at TSD, are serving as event co-directors and have been
\nworking with sponsors and community groups to organize this inaugural
\nevent. Bannon says, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153TSD is the perfect venue for an event like
\nthis, and we are excited to host this event where community members
\nhave the opportunity to try a sport that Austin is well-known for.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153And with a fun, safe and enclosed course, children, parents, and
\nadults can all participate in the race together,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d adds Barden. <\/p>\n

\nServices for the Deaf Video Relay Service (CSDVRS), RunTex, Swift Rock
