We\u2019re getting together again Saturday, March 26, 1-3 pm- looking forward to seeing you there- welcoming new faces- Deaf and hearing.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for an opportunity to practice your receptive skills with Deaf persons, this is the place to be<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re seeing this for the first time, following gives details of what it’s all about.<\/p>\n

First Session had good turnout February 27, 2016 – 20 interested hearing persons and 5 interesting Deaf persons \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n

ASL Chat Haven<\/strong><\/p>\n

ASL Chat Haven is a fellowship of Deaf and hearing people who meet to communicate in American Sign Language. The goal is to enhance signing skills, especially receptive skills, and increase mutual understanding of the language and culture of the Deaf Community.<\/p>\n

ASL Chat Haven offers hearing individuals with varying levels of sign language skill, a unique opportunity to interact and learn from Deaf People in a safe environment. We\u00a0especially welcome hearing professionals and students who work with or wish to work\u00a0with the Deaf Community using American Sign Language to communicate.<\/p>\n

Deaf professionals, adults, seniors, H.S. & College students are encouraged to join us\u00a0in this endeavor. You are the \u2018Deaf Community\u2019 with whom hearing people wish to\u00a0\u2018chat & interact, observe and learn from.<\/p>\n

Come enjoy the \u2019Sound of Silence\u2019 within a Haven, known as \u201ca safe harbor for ships\u201d\u00a0or in this case a refuge and safe place for people of different backgrounds to gather, share, and learn.<\/p>\n
