\nThe Texas School for the Deaf is the oldest continuously operating public school in Texas. Educating deaf and hard of hearing students of Texas since 1856, the campus also provides outreach and educational resources for students, their families and professionals in the field throughout the state of Texas. With educational excellence and a strong belief in a culture and community at TSD, students form a unique identity based on their individual strengths and talents. ABOUT TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF\u2019S DIAMOND CHEFS GALA
\nThe Diamond Chef\u2019s gala began when the Hilton Austin formed a partnership with Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) in 2007. At the time, Hilton Chef, Mark Dayanandan had just been named Diamond Chef, the highest honor among Hilton chefs worldwide. Dayanandan quickly developed a fondness and passion for working with TSD\u2019s culinary students. TSD\u2019s annual Diamond Chefs Gala was named in honor of Dayanandan\u2019s prestigious Diamond Chef title.
