HOUSTON RALLY AND PROTEST OF VRI<\/strong><\/p>\n

DATE: JULY 29, 2016 and AUGUST 9, 2016<\/p>\n

TIME: 10 M till 1:00 PM<\/p>\n

ADDRESS: 6201 BONHOMME ROAD, HOUSTON TX 77036<\/p>\n

THERE WILL BE A RALLY AND PROTEST AGAINST THE USE OF THE VRI IN MEDICAL AND LEGAL SITUATIONS. MANY OF THE DEAF COMMUNITY HAVE FOUND THE VRI TO BE UNRELIABLE AND DIFFICULT TO USE. FIRST, ON JULY 30 THERE WILL BE A GATHERING OF THE DEAF YOU MAKE POSTERS THAT WILL BE USED FOR THE RALLY. THIS WILL TAKE PLACE AT HCIL (HOUSTON CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING) LOCATED AT 6201 BONHOMME ROAD FROM 10am TILL 1pm. THESE POSTERS WILL BE USED AT THE RALLY.<\/p>\n

THE DEAF COMMUNITY IS ENCOURAGED TO BE ACTIVE AND JOIN IN TO PROTEST THE VRI. ON AUG. 9th WE WILL MEET AT MMSC (METROPOLITAN MULTI-SERVICE CENTER) LOCATED AT 1475 WEST GREY, HOUSTON 77019. WE WILL GATHER TOGETHER AT MMSC AT 10am AND WILL TAKE A CHARTER BUS TO THE CITY HALL DOWNTOWN. THERE WE WILL HAVE THE RALLY AND MAKE EVERYONE AWARE THAT THE VRI IS NOT THE PROPER METHOD OF INTERPRETING FOR THE DEAF IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS.
