Job Description:\u00a0JOB TITLE: Job Coach<\/p>\n

TYPICAL DUTIES:\u00a0* A job coach provides on-site job training for consumers needing<\/p>\n

assistance in adjusting to employment,
\ninstruction in learning the skills necessary to perform a job competently, and
\ntraining in the use of transportation services for applicants and consumers to access services and employment.
\nDescription of Services:<\/p>\n

Train applicants and consumers to use public transportation services or other means of transportation to help applicants and consumers access services and employment.
\nWork side-by-side with a newly placed consumer at a job site.
\nAnalyze the job, and break into manageable components.
\nIdentify and solve problems before they become crises for the consumer, employer, or co-worker.
\nTeach effective job keeping skills to the consumer.
\nUse the least intrusive methods possible on the job.
\nGradually reduce the time spent at the job site as the consumer becomes better adjusted and more independent.
\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n

High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
\nOne or more years experience working with people with disabilities;
\nExperience providing direction and assistance to others.
\nAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
\nKnowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;
\nFlexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and handle multiple projects at the same time;
\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; maintains effective working relationships with other staff and clients;
\nAbility to travel by automobile approximately 20% of the time;
\nDemonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills.
\nCERTIFICATES REQUIRED: Valid driver\u2019s license. Must have or must be able to obtain Job Coach Certification within 30 days of employment from the University of North Texas (employer sponsored).<\/p>\n

This is a part time position. Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with blind, low-vision and deaf consumers. Work availability should be open Sunday-Saturday. Hours vary based on consumers need for assistance.<\/p>\n
