{"id":33901,"date":"2016-07-22T14:31:25","date_gmt":"2016-07-22T19:31:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=33901"},"modified":"2016-07-22T14:31:54","modified_gmt":"2016-07-22T19:31:54","slug":"job-opportunity-job-coach-trainer-employment-assistant-san-antonio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2016\/07\/22\/job-opportunity-job-coach-trainer-employment-assistant-san-antonio\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Opportunity: Job Coach Trainer, Employment Assistant &#8211; San Antonio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Job Coach (PRN), (Trainer, Employment Assistant)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vista Vocational Resources Center Inc. &#8211; San Antonio, Texas<br \/>\n$12 an hour<\/p>\n<p>Job Description:\u00a0JOB TITLE: Job Coach<\/p>\n<p>TYPICAL DUTIES:\u00a0* A job coach provides on-site job training for consumers needing<\/p>\n<p>assistance in adjusting to employment,<br \/>\ninstruction in learning the skills necessary to perform a job competently, and<br \/>\ntraining in the use of transportation services for applicants and consumers to access services and employment.<br \/>\nDescription of Services:<\/p>\n<p>Train applicants and consumers to use public transportation services or other means of transportation to help applicants and consumers access services and employment.<br \/>\nWork side-by-side with a newly placed consumer at a job site.<br \/>\nAnalyze the job, and break into manageable components.<br \/>\nIdentify and solve problems before they become crises for the consumer, employer, or co-worker.<br \/>\nTeach effective job keeping skills to the consumer.<br \/>\nUse the least intrusive methods possible on the job.<br \/>\nGradually reduce the time spent at the job site as the consumer becomes better adjusted and more independent.<br \/>\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n<p>High School Diploma or G.E.D.;<br \/>\nOne or more years experience working with people with disabilities;<br \/>\nExperience providing direction and assistance to others.<br \/>\nAbility to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;<br \/>\nKnowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;<br \/>\nFlexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and handle multiple projects at the same time;<br \/>\nAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; maintains effective working relationships with other staff and clients;<br \/>\nAbility to travel by automobile approximately 20% of the time;<br \/>\nDemonstrated organizational, problem solving and common sense skills.<br \/>\nCERTIFICATES REQUIRED: Valid driver\u2019s license. Must have or must be able to obtain Job Coach Certification within 30 days of employment from the University of North Texas (employer sponsored).<\/p>\n<p>This is a part time position. Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with blind, low-vision and deaf consumers. Work availability should be open Sunday-Saturday.
