VSA arts of Texas Receives National Award for Excellence <\/p>\n
WASHINGTON, April 21, 2008 \u2013 VSA arts of Texas, an Austin nonprofit
\norganization, received the 2008 National Award for Excellence in
\nOrganizational Management at the VSA arts annual affiliate meeting.
\nThe award cited VSA arts of Texas\u2019 outstanding programming and
\nbusiness management practices in creating opportunities in the arts
\nfor children and adults with disabilities. VSA arts of Texas is one of
\n46 national and 55 international VSA affiliates working to promote
\nparticipation in the arts and arts education for people with
\ndisabilities. \u201cWe are extremely pleased and excited to be recognized
\nfor our efforts here in Texas,\u201d said VSA arts of Texas\u2019 Executive
\nDirector, Celia Hughes, \u201cIt\u2019s quite an honor considering the
\ninternational scope of VSA arts.\u201d Each year VSA arts of Texas
\nprovides professional development services, arts-based learning
\nactivities in the classroom and community arts programs for more than
\n25,000 students, teachers, artists with disabilities and community
