DEAF CONTRACTED RESPITE PROVIDERS WANTED<\/strong><\/p>\n

Austin Travis County Integral Care is now accepting applications for contracted respite providers for our Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Services Network.<\/p>\n

WHAT IS RESPITE?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Respite is a service that provides for the planned or emergency short-term relief of the unpaid caregiver of a Consumer when the caregiver is temporarily unavailable to provide supports due to non-routine circumstances. This service provides a consumer with personal assistance in daily living activities (e.g., grooming, eating, bathing, dressing and personal hygiene) and functional living tasks. The service includes assistance with:<\/p>\n

\u2022 planning and preparing meals; transportation or assistance in securing transportation;
\n\u2022 ambulating and mobility;
\n\u2022 reinforcement of behavioral support or specialized therapies activities;
\n\u2022 assistance with medications and the performance of tasks delegated by an RN in accordance with state law; and
\n\u2022 supervision of the consumer\u2019s safety and security.<\/p>\n

WHERE IS RESPITE PROVIDED?<\/p>\n

\u2022 Respite is usually provided in the Consumers home or out in the community.<\/p>\n

WHAT IS THE RATE OF PAY?<\/p>\n

\u2022 $8.50 per hour for 10 or less hours provided in a calendar day
\n\u2022 $85.00 per day for 10.25 or more hours in a calendar day<\/p>\n

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS?<\/p>\n

\u2022 High School Diploma or GED
\n\u2022 Some experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
\n\u2022 Valid Texas Driver\u2019s License<\/p>\n
