{"id":3454,"date":"2008-05-25T10:52:58","date_gmt":"2008-05-25T15:52:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/?p=3454"},"modified":"2008-05-26T00:19:45","modified_gmt":"2008-05-26T05:19:45","slug":"time-warner-raises-18000-for-the-texas-school-for-the-deaf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deafnetwork.com\/wordpress\/blog\/2008\/05\/25\/time-warner-raises-18000-for-the-texas-school-for-the-deaf\/","title":{"rendered":"Time Warner raises $18,000 for the Texas School for the Deaf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GIVING BACK <\/p>\n<p>Time Warner raises $18,000 for the Texas School for the Deaf <\/p>\n<p>Ryland Homes donates $2,500 each to food bank, Ronald McDonald House.<\/p>\n<p>Friday, May 23, 2008 <\/p>\n<p>School for the Deaf receives $18,000 from Time Warner Cable, News 8 <\/p>\n<p>Time Warner Cable and News 8 Austin, its 24-hour news channel, raised<br \/>\nmore than $18,000 for the Texas School for the Deaf. <\/p>\n<p>The money was raised at the annual Kars &amp; Kids classic car and hot<br \/>\nrod show, held on the school&#8217;s South Congress Avenue campus. <\/p>\n<p>The school will use the money to buy classroom technology and<br \/>\nequipment for its automotive repair program. <\/p>\n<p>The school recently gave News 8 Austin and Time Warner Cable its<br \/>\nPartner of the Year award.<\/p>\n<p>Real Estate Council raises $45,000 for youth program with art show <\/p>\n<p>The Real Estate Council of Austin raised $45,000 from the recent<br \/>\nGardner-Betts Art Show and Silent Auction. <\/p>\n<p>The money will go to Project Bridge, a yearlong arts and<br \/>\nentertainment program for youths ages 14 to 17 who are on probation. <\/p>\n<p>The program gives them a chance to express themselves through art and<br \/>\nmusic. <\/p>\n<p>Classes are organized by the Austin Lyric Opera&#8217;s Armstrong Community<br \/>\nMusic School, which receives a grant from the council. <\/p>\n<p>Citizens employees&#8217; garage sale nets $15,000 for heart surgeries for<br \/>\nkids <\/p>\n<p>Citizens Inc., an Austin-based insurance company, raised $15,000 for<br \/>\nthe HeartGift Foundation through an employee garage sale. <\/p>\n<p>The money will help pay for heart surgery for children from<br \/>\ndeveloping countries.
