Leaders of the Deaf and\/or hard of hearing community from across the state will gather in Dallas in a night of celebration and collective purpose to enhance the lives of those in our population we serve<\/p>\n<p>The Gala&#8217;s theme will be \u201cWelcome Home\u201d in the excitement of the previously held and successful, groundbreaking of our new neighborhood community, Martha\u2019s Vineyard Place, held on November 23, 2015. We are naming this new community in honor of a historic community on Martha\u2019s Vineyard island in which everyone communicated in sign language \u2013 often considered a \u201cdeaf utopia\u201d in the 19th century.
