The series is designed to teach clinical and educational staff how to engage persons (children through adult) who are language deprived and delayed in the development of psychosocial skills such as coping with distress and adversity, conflict resolution with other people, cognitive problem solving and healthy self-talk. The focus will be largely on working with deaf persons with language deprivation, but the content is broadly applicable to work with persons who have a broad array of language and cognitive deficits.<\/p>\n<p>The sessions will be highly interactive, with numerous opportunities for small and large group discussion and skill practice. Throughout the series, Dr. Glickman will incorporate his new workbook Preparing Deaf and Hearing Persons with Language and Learning Challenges for CBT, which is included in the registration materials.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch will be provided and dorms are available upon request.<\/p>\n<p>To Register: <a href=\"http:\/\/tsd.formstack.com\/forms\/dmhc_series_registration\">http:\/\/tsd.formstack.com\/forms\/dmhc_series_registration<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Questions: contact Lee Godbold lee.godbold@tsd.state.tx.us<\/p>\n<p>About the Presenter: Dr. Neil Glickman is a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts, specializing in cognitive behavioral psychotherapy and Deaf mental health care.<\/p>\n<p>For 14 years, he was the unit clinical director and psychologist of a specialty Deaf psychiatric inpatient unit.
