SENIOR PROGRAM CENTER Manager, Dallas TX <\/p>\n
Position Summary: <\/p>\n
Plans, organizes, and supervises all phases of the Senior Citizens
\nnutrition, education, transportation, outreach, intake and volunteer
\nprograms at Deaf Action Senior Center facility. <\/p>\n
Major Duties: <\/p>\n
— Plans, organizes, supervises and directs all phases of the Senior
\nCitizens recreation, nutrition, education, transportation, outreach
\nand volunteer services, as implemented at the senior center facility. <\/p>\n
— Develops, evaluates and implements special events\/programs
\nactivities, outreach, presentations, field trips, etc. <\/p>\n
— Completes client intake forms and makes referrals; provides
\ninformation\/resources to senior citizens. <\/p>\n
— Responsible for the noon meal program, weekly reports and
\noverseeing the volunteers within the program. <\/p>\n
— Assesses senior clients’ individual situations and takes
\nappropriate action, as needed. <\/p>\n
— Coordinates with the Site Council to produce printed monthly
\nactivity calendar and informational and educational materials for
\ndistribution to seniors and public. <\/p>\n
Job Requirements: <\/p>\n
— Proficient sign language skills <\/p>\n
–General knowledge of the Older Americans Act, gerontology, program
\ndevelopment and intergenerational programming. <\/p>\n
–Knowledge of social services, senior benefits and client relations.<\/p>\n
–Ability to organize, and manage activities for the senior citizen
\ncenter with multiple activities and services. <\/p>\n
–Ability to supervise and direct the work of assigned
\npersonnel\/volunteers and to conduct training programs. <\/p>\n
–Ability to obtain a CPR Certificate and Food Handlers Certificate
\nwithin six months of date of hire and maintain throughout employment. <\/p>\n
— Ability to maintain records, both manually and by automated
\nmethods and prepare accurate reports, correspondence, memoranda, etc. <\/p>\n
–Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
\nwith supervisors, associates, outside agencies and the general public.<\/p>\n
