Part time employee position openings for one (1) Parent Guide and one (1) Deaf\/Hard of Hearing Guide<\/p>\n

The Texas Hands & Voices Guide By Your Side (GBYS) program has two part time position openings \u2013 one for a Parent Guide and one for a Deaf\/Hard of Hearing Guide. Hours will average 10 hours per month (Contract total 125 hours) Funding is currently available through August 2018.<\/p>\n

A Parent Guide must be a parent\/guardian of a child who is deaf or hard of hearing. A Deaf\/Hard of Hearing Guide must be a deaf or hard of hearing adult. The Guides will undergo specialized ongoing training in order to provide support to families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.<\/p>\n

Guide By Your Side (GBYS) is a program of Texas Hands & Voices that provides support for parents of children who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf\/blind, or deaf with additional disabilities. The goal of the program is to provide parents \u2013 with d\/hh children ages birth to twenty-one – the opportunity to establish a supportive relationship with a trained and experienced fellow parent and\/or a d\/Deaf or hard of hearing adult.<\/p>\n
