Texas School for the Deaf Creates Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n

TSD has created a relief fund to support our students and families devastated by the catastrophic flooding wrought by Hurricane Harvey. We are reaching out for your assistance to help our 140 students and their families, each of whom are struggling in different ways, in response to the devastation they have experienced.<\/p>\n

We ask you to continue to keep these TSD families in your hearts and prayers for the coming weeks and months ahead, as we know their needs for shelter, food, and comfort will be enormous and for many, long-term.<\/p>\n

To date, most of our Houston area students have been displaced by the flooding and have not yet returned to school.<\/p>\n

Right now, we have received clearance to send our home-going buses into Houston on Monday, and we are hopeful that most students will return.<\/p>\n

We are grateful for all of the support and concern, we\u2019ve received from our wonderful TSD community and WE ASK FOR YOUR HELP NOW, as we all work together to assist them as they heal and recover.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how you can help\u2026<\/p>\n

1. Make a donation to TSD students and families at tsd.foundation.org<\/strong><\/p>\n

All donations to the TSD Foundation are 100 percent tax deductible and will go directly to our TSD students and their families.<\/p>\n

Donations of the following items are also needed:<\/p>\n

New underwear: sizes, ages 6-21 male and female
\nAnkle socks: sized from age 6-21 male and female
\nToiletries (deodorant, shampoo, soap, etc.)
\nGift Cards to Walmart or HEB
\nSchool Supplies (Click here for lists<\/a>)<\/p>\n

All goods may be delivered to the Social Work Department at TSD, in Cottage 568, at 1102 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704.<\/p>\n
