Students from the Texas School for the Deaf are ready to take on a
\nfavorite summer pastime. <\/p>\n
Park rangers and sheriff’s deputies were on hand to give them a
\nlesson in how to cast, hook and reel in some slippery fish. <\/p>\n
But, the students were learning more than just how to fish. <\/p>\n
An interpreter helped John Serrano describe the mission. <\/p>\n
“The topic this year is go green in our studies — conservation and
\nenjoying our environment. It’s great to come here to go fishing
\nbecause the wildlife area,” Serrano, Texas School for the Deaf,
\nsaid. <\/p>\n
“We’re studying the wildlife here. We’re enjoying our studies here,
\nand when we come here, we’re learning everything at the same time \u2013
\nfishing and conservation,” he said. <\/p>\n
The day was part of the Texas School for the Deaf’s Summer Elementary
\nSchool Program.<\/p>\n
