We hope you all had a great Father\u2019s Day with your family and
\nfriends! We really need more rain to keep the grass greener and gets
\nso hot this year.<\/p>\n
This month, the TCD team has been overwhelmed and busy preparing for
\nthe 4th Annual Deaf Picnic! We were very excited about the greatest
\nevent ever! We had more than 100 people attend from Oklahoma,
\nArkansas, Waco, Wichita Falls, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, and some
\nother areas at the deaf picnic! We were so surprised that the
\nplayground was built at Waterloo Lake Park. It was so great seeing the
\nkids playing in the playground. We had a blast! There were many games
\nfor adults and children to play. Booths were set up by CSDVRS,
\nSorenson, HOVRS, and Scensty.<\/p>\n
We want to thank Dave Shelton for videotaping the deaf picnic (it
\nwill be on our TCD website under V-blog) and Don Stewart for taking
\npictures of the deaf picnic (it will be in the website under Gallery).<\/p>\n
We had cups made with our TCD logo on them. People appreciated that
\nwe posted the TCD picnic signs from the exit and followed to Waterloo
\nLake Park so they didn\u2019t get lost and cups with TCD logo. We sold a
\nlot of 4th Annual Deaf Picnic T-shirts. We had 30 keys for the
\ntreasure chest game for the children to match with only one key to
\nopen the treasure chest. Unfortunately, no one won the treasure. It
\nwas so much fun doing the treasure chest game though.<\/p>\n
I want to express my appreciation to the TCD team and members who
\nvolunteered to help us out with plans to make it smooth such as
\nsetting up everything, preparing the food, tent, cooking the food, and
\nmuch more etc. The children had a great time making the crafts such as
\nsand art in shaped bottles and painting their hats.<\/p>\n
We would like to thank the sponsors for our deaf picnic: CSDVRS for
\ndonating the money for the prizes for children; Sorenson for donating
\nfood; Sam\u2019s Club for donating food and water; TMC for donating money
\nfor our needs; Amber Short for donating money; Amber Short\u2018s mother
\nfor renting a cotton candy machine for everyone; Tammie, Gregory\u2019s
\nmother, for donating a grill; and Landmark for donating 2 certificate
\ncards.<\/p>\n
After the Deaf Picnic, we had social night at the Elks Lodge. We had
\na lot of fun! We had a wonderful time chatting and meeting new people.
\nWe had a lot of prizes to give away for the adults. I loved teasing
\nthe people by using the backward numbers to trick the people. That was
\nfunny! Everyone loved this event. Everyone tells me that they want us
\nto continue using Waterloo Park for the deaf picnic. We had a cake at
\nsocial night to celebrate our TCD\u2019s one-year anniversary and 4th
\nAnnual Deaf Picnic.<\/p>\n
We are very proud of TCD\u2019s success. We have added 5 more new
\nmembers. Please welcome them to our team! We\u2019re still growing and
\ngetting stronger!<\/p>\n
I want to express my appreciation to Sheila Bills and Lynn Randolph
\nfor their hard work to make the deaf picnic successful. I also want to
\nexpress my appreciation to Deborah for making the bean bag game for
\nthe children. Great job!<\/p>\n
TCD members want to express our appreciation to Scott, the president,
\nfor working very hard making so many phone calls for sponsors and
\nplans for the deaf picnic. We can see that Scott\u2019s motivation to
\nhelp TCD a lot to become successful.<\/p>\n
Gregory Dodson\u2019s, the secretary of TCD, grandfather passed away due
\nto cancer. Gregory would like to thank you all for the support that he
\nneeds in the time of sadness.<\/p>\n
Cathy Elder-Ashley\u2019s, president of DAD and a member of TCD, father
\npassed away. She stays in Wisconsin to take care of her mother. She
\nwould like to thank you all for the support that she needs in the time
\nof sadness.<\/p>\n
We would like to announce that we got a new Cash Register in April.<\/p>\n
We will be hosting the Aloha Night at the Elks Lodge #2280 in Sherman
\non July 19 at 7 p.m. We will have a \u2018best\u2019 dressed costume
\ncontest. Come on one and all to enjoy our \u2018Aloha\u2019 event. Tell your
\nfamily and friends of those who don\u2019t have computer or pager to come
\nand meet many new faces to enjoy the social night. The Cash Bar will
\nbe open for anyone over 21 years old to drink. If you have any

We will have general meeting on CSDVRS hosted V-Meeting. If you are
\ninterested in a V-Meeting, all you have to do is set up V-Meeting in
\nyour Videophone (VP) under CSDVRS, or if you need help, CSDVRS will
\ncome by to add CSDVRS on your VP and give you free new toll free 800
\nnumber. It will be live chat through relay by VP. If you are
\ninterested to receive the information about V-Meeting, please contact
\nus at info@texomadeafclub.org
\nand we will help you to set up the V-Meeting in your VP.<\/p>\n
If you are not a member and are interested in becoming a TCD member,

so we can send you information including our TCD Newsletters, Events
\nand social nights around Sherman\/Denison in Texas. Or you can check
\nout at the Deaf Network that advertises about our TCD activities and
\nevents. Member fees are $10 per year for Single and $15 per year for
\nFamily and kids 17 years and under. Please send check or money order

\n75091. Or you can come to our next event to sign up to become a TCD
\nmember.<\/p>\n
We are looking for two volunteers to become the Board of Trustee and
\none Photographer for our TCD. If anyone interested in a position,
\nplease email Scott, the president at president@texomadeafclub.org<\/p>\n
. We are looking for one of Board of Trustee and Photographer who is
\nwilling and motivated to fill this position.<\/p>\n
TCD is a non-profit organization with section 501 (c) (3) and we do
\nhave a fund if you wish to send money order or check to us. Please
\nmake sure to note that it is specifically for the fund on your
\ncheck\/money order.<\/p>\n
