American Repertory Ensemble, a fairly new dance and music<br \/>\ncompany in Austin TX are pleased to be able to offer Assistive<br \/>\nListening Devices for all of our performances this summer. We also<br \/>\nhope to have a sign language interpreter for our post-performance<br \/>\ndiscussion following the Saturday Matinee. Please let us know if you<br \/>\nhave a group who would like to attend so that we can discuss a group<br \/>\nrate, and so that I can try to get an interpreter specifically for the<br \/>\nperformance that they would like to attend. Fresh off the heels of a<br \/>\nwell-received performance at Big Range Dance Festival and 15<br \/>\nnominations from the Austin Critics Table, Austin&#8217;s most original arts<br \/>\norganization presents another ground-breaking performance featuring<br \/>\nprincipal dancers from the San Francisco Ballet, New York City Ballet,<br \/>\nand Twyla Tharp&#8217;s &#8220;Movin&#8217; Out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The audience will travel the globe on an emotional journey with<br \/>\njazz-influenced composer Michael Torke in the vibrant and sassy new<br \/>\nwork, &#8220;Speed Dial,&#8221; the playful, romantic Spanish flavor of &#8220;Valses<br \/>\nPoeticos,&#8221; the British elegance of &#8220;The Dance House,&#8221; and the American<br \/>\nreinvention of the classic &#8220;L&#8217;Apres-midi d&#8217;un faune&#8221; by ARE&#8217;s own<br \/>\nDavid Justin.<\/p>\n<p>In this concluding show of its third season, ARE will produce seven<br \/>\nAustin premieres and present international dance stars Tina LeBlanc<br \/>\nand Joan Boada of the San Francisco Ballet, Michelle Gifford of the<br \/>\nNew York City Ballet, Anna Laghezza of Miami City Ballet, Griff Braun<br \/>\nand Eric Otto of the American Ballet Theatre, and Laura Feig, recently<br \/>\nfrom Twyla Tharp&#8217;s award-winning &#8220;Movin&#8217; Out.&#8221; These premier dancers<br \/>\nwill partner with Austin-based, world-class musicians Karla Hamelin<br \/>\n(cello), Aurelien Petillot (viola), Amra Catovic (flute), Alice Wang<br \/>\n(clarinet), Graeme Francis (percussion), John Carroll (trumpet) and<br \/>\nYu-Hsuan Liao (piano).<\/p>\n<p>As always, this collection of artists combines live music, dance, and<br \/>\ntheatre in an accessible way to create a one-of-a-kind show that<br \/>\npushes the boundaries of traditional arts. Along with stretching these<br \/>\nnotions at each performance, ARE advances the level of arts available<br \/>\nlocally by acting as a city ambassador and introducing international<br \/>\nperformers to the beauty and hospitality of Austin.
