\"\"<\/a>Doris Mae (Brown) Jameson<\/strong><\/p>\n

Doris Mae (Brown) Jameson, beloved Mother and Aunt, was guided Home January 1, 2018, at the age of 92. Doris was born in Los Angeles, California, on May 28, 1925, to Robert M. and Mildred F. Brown. She attended Foshay Junior High School and Polytechnic High School, though she interrupted her studies during World War II to participate in the war effort, working at Lockheed Aircraft. It was there that she met her husband-to-be, John Robert Jameson, Jr., who was captivated by her lively spirit, charm, and beauty. (She would later win the Mrs. Deaf Texas pageant in 1955.) They were married on July 1, 1944, and had one son before moving to Lubbock, Texas, in 1952 to join the Jameson family Dr. Pepper bottling enterprise. She gave birth to two more sons in the following years. The family relocated to Dallas in 1972.\u00a0 In Lubbock and in Dallas, she was active in numerous deaf associations.<\/p>\n

Throughout her life, she inspired many with her unflagging drive and unique style. She cultivated an interest in gardening, loved to travel, and mastered the art of needlepoint, filling her home with many beautiful creations. There was a very special place in her heart reserved for her beloved Yorkshire terriers \u2013 they brought her enormous comfort and joy. She adored \u2013 and was adored by \u2013 her many friends and family. A fiercely independent woman, Doris lived on her own until the end, and never allowed her deafness to limit her in any way.<\/p>\n

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Jameson, Jr.; and brother, Donald R. Brown. She is survived by her sons John R. Jameson III, Jay L. Jameson, and J. Michael Jameson; nephews Robert L. Welch, Mitchell Brown, and Stephen J. Brown; and nieces Mary Mark Welch and Andie Brown Sacks.<\/p>\n

Inurnment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.\u00a0 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Doris\u2019s friends remember her in their thoughts and prayers.<\/p>\n
