July 25th’s Emergency Preparedness workshop for Hidalgo County Deaf
\nresidents will be postponed to a later date due to incoming Hurricane
\nDolly. <\/p>\n
It is our goal to get this rescheduled as quickly as possible; we’re
\naiming for 1st or 2nd Friday of August. Once the date has been set
\nwe’ll send out another flyer with that updated date information. <\/p>\n
For those of you in the Rio Grande Valley area, if you’d like to
\nstart getting ASL messages and alerts, go to http:\/\/www.DeafLink.com
\n and click on the menu option: sign up for AHAS-IN. This is a FREE
\nservice provided by the State of Texas Governor’s Division of
\nEmergency Management Office to any individual who relies on ASL as
\ntheir primary language choice. <\/p>\n
If you’d like to see ASL (or text) messages on various preparedness
\ntopics please visit the Texas Department of Public Safety’s website:

\n and click on the Emergency Management tab; from there click on the
\nDeaf Link link and you’ll be routed to an “Accessible Content” page
\nwith ASL and Text formatted topics related to preparedness and other
\ninformation. <\/p>\n
