Camp Sign, a communication barrier-free outdoor training program, provides youth between the ages of 8 &#8211; 17 with a community of caring mentors and peers who provide experiential education that leads to self-respect and appreciation for life. All of the outcomes\u2014friendships, overcoming challenges, staying healthy and building character\u2014 prepare them for bigger, brighter lives down the road. In addition to great friendships and enduring memories, many important life skills such as self-advocacy are learned at Camp Sign.<\/p>\n<p>Camp Sign operates under the Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) under Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC), and depends on donations to keep the program running. Parents and guardians contribute to the camp fees ($35.00 &#8211; $235.00, depending on income level). Medical exams and transportation are not included in this price. The Camp SIGN mission is to have all deaf or hard of hearing students from around the state of Texas participate in the program regardless of their communication mode.<\/p>\n<p>Please help us accomplish our mission and consider a camper sponsorship or in-kind donation. Examples of in-kind donations include t-shirts, backpacks, reusable water bottles, gift bags, towels, sunglasses, and more, for approximately 120 campers and 50 staff\/volunteers. In recognition of your sponsorship or donation, we would be honored to have your logo on our Camp SIGN banner, your promotional materials in the camper gift bags, and acknowledgment in our post-camp &#8220;Thank You&#8221; message.<\/p>\n<p>Tax deductible gifts and grants may be sent to Camp Sign, c\/o Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, P.O.
