part time employee position openings for one (1) Parent Guide and one (1) (Bilingual) Spanish Speaking Parent Guide<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Texas Hands & Voices Guide By Your Side (GBYS) program has two part time position openings:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spanish Speaking (Bilingual) Parent Guide – contract of 150 hours (Average 12 hours per month) pay rate $18\/hr on site and $23\/hr off site. Parent support with no outreach duties.<\/p>\n

Parent Guide – contract of 300 hours . (Average 25 hours per month)
\npay rate $20\/hr on site and $25\/hr off site. Will include parent support and some outreach.<\/p>\n

Start Date: Sep 1, 2018 Funding is currently available through August 2019.<\/p>\n

NOTE: All Parent Guides must be the parent of a child who is d\/Deaf, hard of hearing, d\/Deaf\/blind, or d\/Deaf with additional disabilities. Each Guide will undergo specialized training in order to provide support to families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing. These positions are contract positions working from your own office. There will be some travel for training and outreach as specified in the job description.<\/p>\n

All Parent Guides must be a parent\/guardian of a child who is deaf or hard of hearing. Each Guide will undergo specialized ongoing training in order to provide support to families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing.<\/p>\n

Guide By Your Side (GBYS) is a program of Texas Hands & Voices that provides support for parents of children who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf\/blind, or deaf with additional disabilities. The goal of the program is to provide parents \u2013 with d\/hh children ages birth to twenty-one – the opportunity to establish a supportive relationship with a trained and experienced fellow parent and\/or a d\/Deaf or hard of hearing adult.<\/p>\n
