Whether you call it anger, frustration, exhaustion or burnout, we all experience emotional and physical strains which may tempt us to give up and cry out, \u201cI QUIT\u201d. This workshop will explore some particular challenges and temptations experienced in the life of a sign language interpreter and will uncover helpful biblical ways to view and handle those challenges. Participants will explore paradigms of interpreting roles, values and approaches to decision making, identify danger zones to beware of, and determine means of maintaining ethical and biblical practices.<\/p>\n<p>Have Passport, Will Interpret- Are you a natural and experience globe trotter, a person who has only dreamed of traveling to fantastic places around the world? Perhaps a trip to Israel is on your bucket list. This workshop will share adventures and insights from a traveling interpreter\u2019s perspective, and many lessons learned. Your expectations, physical and mental stamina may be challenged by surprise when you embark into the work of interpreting in other lands and cultures. Join us and learn how to establish right expectations, live and work in a foreign environment, pack smart, prepare well, interact and succeed as a traveling interpreter.
