Interpreter Services Supervisor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Expectation.<\/strong> The supervisor is responsible for the successful and profitable
\nmanagement of SAI; ensuring services are provided with maximum quality and efficiency.
\nThe supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the resources (human and material)
\nspace, equipment, scheduling, office operations. Reports to the Director of SAI.<\/p>\n

Essential Job Functions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Business Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Executes Marketing Plan to expand customer base.
\n\u2022 Builds and maintains customer relationships and partnerships; develops leads and
\npursues business opportunities
\n\u2022 Monitors developments and trends in the field, responding to emerging needs
\n\u2022 Maintains community relations (Deaf and interpreting communities.) Solicits input\/
\nfeedback and ensures customer satisfaction
\n\u2022 Provides information regarding program\/agency\/interpreting field, including
\npresentations and workshops.<\/p>\n

Program and Contract Management<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Collects and analyzes program statistics
\n\u2022 Develops and maintains policies needed for smooth operations
\n\u2022 Prepares and monitors program budget
\n\u2022 Act as POC and maintains contract compliance with a variety of state, federal and
\nprivate contracts. Provides regular reporting as required
\n\u2022 Responds to RFPs and bids as needed; attends award meeting
\n\u2022 Other duties as assigned<\/p>\n

Supervision\/Evaluation<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Supervises\/evaluates administrative staff (office coordinators)
\n\u2022 Maintains sufficient pool of qualified interpreting staff and independent
\nsubcontractors.
\n\u2022 Acts as Manager On Duty (MOD) to troubleshoot staff needs after hours on a
\nrotating basis.
\n\u2022 Monitors the scheduling process to ensure highest quality customer service.
\n\u2022 Works with HR regarding hiring, firing and disciplinary actions as needed.<\/p>\n

Interpreting<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Responsible for coverage of contracts during business hours
\n\u2022 Available for on-demand, back up or emergency interpretation as needed.<\/p>\n

Skills\/Experience:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal (English and ASL) and written.
\n\u2022 Minimum of two years\u2019 experience with supervision
\n\u2022 Ability to provide positive leadership to a diverse workforce
\n\u2022 Ability to analyze business metrics to determine program efficiency
\n\u2022 RID\/BEI Certified Interpreter with at least 5 years post certification interpreting
\nexperience
\n\u2022 Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding language access for deaf
\npeople
\n\u2022 Fluency with a variety of computer programs\/software used for scheduling and data
\ncollection (or ability to learn)<\/p>\n

Education\/Licenses\/Certificates:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree \u2013 interpreting or business related<\/p>\n

Work Environment:<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Traditional office environment within an agency providing a wide variety of services
\nPosition Location: San Antonio or Austin office options<\/p>\n
