Hurry, before it is too late! We only have 3 openings left! If you
\nhave recently graduated and can\u2019t find a good job or you are still
\nin high school (aged 15 \u2013 21), come improve your communication
\nskills. It is not the same old school you always knew! We have trips
\nplanned so we can learn in natural settings! We will be giving you
\npersonal attention to make sure you are successful. We have a computer
\nlab of 6 computers! We will be using games to learn math and work on

The Deaf Ministry of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas,
\nTexas is pleased to announce that student applications for the Lovers
\nLane Academy for the Deaf (LLAD) are now available for the 2008-2009
\nschool year. <\/p>\n
Our goal is to provide, in a Christian faith environment, a bilingual
\n(ASL and English) education for Deaf teens who are currently
\nstruggling with their language and academic skills. <\/p>\n
Our mission is to develop a Deaf teen\u2019s physical, mental, and
\nspiritual abilities so that he or she can be better equipped to enter
\nadulthood and enjoy God\u2019s blessings of work, family, community, and
\nworship.<\/p>\n
Our call is from God, who loves each person and desires wholeness for
\nall people. God calls all people to love one another and Lovers Lane
\nAcademy for the Deaf is a response to God\u2019s call to love Deaf teens.
\nLLAD is also a response to a felt need in the Deaf community for more
\noptions in Deaf education.<\/p>\n
We believe in strengthening family communication, and that parents of
\nthe Deaf are very important in their teen\u2019s education. LLAD will
\nwork with parents so as to develop their teen\u2019s fullest potential.
\nThrough a concentrated program in ASL and English, LLAD students will
\nlearn to more fully express themselves in writing, reading, and
\nreasoning skills. <\/p>\n
We are also pleased to announce the Paul A. Walkup Scholarship Fund
\nfor LLAD students. Applications are available upon request. Students
\nare welcome regardless of race, economic status, creed, national
\norigin, or gender. Enrollment size will be limited in order to provide
\na small teacher-to-student ratio. <\/p>\n
