We hope you enjoyed our country\u2019s birthday this 4th of July with
\nfamily and friends and saw beautiful fireworks. We had a horribly dry
\nJuly with no rain. We really need the rain for this month. <\/p>\n
This month, TCD will be hosting the \u2018Wanted: Dead or Alive\u2019 event
\non August 9th at Elks Lodge in Sherman at 7 p.m. We will have a
\n\u2018best-dressed cowboy or cowgirl\u2019 costume contest. Come one and all
\nto enjoy our \u2018Wanted: Dead or Alive\u2019 event. Tell your family and
\nfriends of those who don\u2019t have a computer or pager to come and meet
\nmany new faces and enjoy the social night. The Cash Bar will be open
\nfor anyone over 21 years old to drink. If you have any questions about

Last month, TCD hosted the \u2018Aloha\u2019 event and it was pretty good
\nwith the number of attendances. We had a great time dressing up in
\nAloha costumes. We decorated a very beautiful background on the wall
\nto make it look real and had great pina colanda drinks. You can check
\nout our website under Gallery to see our beautiful decorations. There
\nwere also a few new members. Please welcome them to our team!<\/p>\n
The Randolphs invited some friends to go on boating and watched the
\nbeautiful fireworks on July 4th at Texoma Lake. We really enjoyed
\ndocking on the small island in Texoma Lake and had a picnic there. The
\nfood was so delicious. The weather was hot, with a breeze and very
\nlittle rain for a short time. <\/p>\n
The Randolphs hosted the 4th of July Cookout on July 5th at their
\nresidence and invited friends. We all brought our own potluck to
\nshare. We had a great time chatting and playing some games. We had a
\nblast time. It was a very nice weather but hot and humid. <\/p>\n
We wanted to share great news to celebrate with Scott Randolph for
\nhis one-year presidency in July. Congratulations, Scott. <\/p>\n
The 49th Biennial NAD Conference was held at the New Orleans Marriott
\nin New Orleans, LA, from July 7-11, 2008. Michelle Lapides from
\nMaryland was crowned NAD Miss Deaf America 2008-2010. Congratulations,
\nMichelle. <\/p>\n
Deaf Celebration will be held at Plano Centre in Plano on September
\n27th. Please stop by our booth to check out the information about our
\nTCD. There will be brochures, flyers and more info about TCD and
\nevents. <\/p>\n
V-Meeting was taken on July 30th thru CSDVRS to discuss the issues
\nbut it wasn\u2019t finished discussion. It will continue with more issues
\nto discuss in the next meeting. Please check our schedule for the next
\nmeeting at our website. <\/p>\n
Shelia Bills and Deborah Young will attend SWDBA in Little Rock,
\nArkansas on July 31-August 3, 2008. <\/p>\n
Lynn Randolph will be attending her Close To My Heart Convention on
\nJuly 30-August 4, 2008 in Orlando, Florida for her scrapbooking
\nbusiness. <\/p>\n
Next month, We will be hosting the \u2018Mardi Gras Night\u2019 at Elks
\nLodge #2280 in Sherman on September 13 at 7 p.m. We will have a
\n\u2018best\u2019 dressed costume contest. Come one and all to enjoy our
\n\u2018Mardi Gras\u2019 event. Tell your family and friends of those who
\ndon\u2019t have a computer or pager to come and meet many new faces and
\nenjoy the social night. The Cash Bar will be open for anyone over 21

\nbring potluck to share, it will be $2.00 more per person because it is
\nnot fair for everyone to come without food and take advantage for
\nfree. <\/p>\n
We will have general meeting on CSDVRS hosted V-Meeting. If you are
\ninterested in a V-Meeting, all you have to do is set up V-Meeting in
\nyour Videophone (VP) under CSDVRS, or if you need help, CSDVRS will
\ncome by to add CSDVRS on your VP and give you free new toll free 800
\nnumber. It will be live chat through relay by VP. If you are
\ninterested to receive the information about V-Meeting, please contact
\nus at info@texomadeafclub.org
\n and we will help you to set up the V-Meeting in your VP. <\/p>\n
If you are not a member and are interested in becoming a TCD member,

so we can send you information including our TCD Newsletters, Events
\nand social nights around Sherman\/Denison in Texas. Or you can check
\nout at the Deaf Network that advertises about our TCD activities and
\nevents. Member fees are $10 per year for Single and $15 per year for
\nFamily and kids 17 years and under. Please send check or money order
\npayable to Texoma Council for the Deaf, P.O. Box 2686, Sherman, TX
\n75091. Or you can come to our next event to sign up to become a TCD
\nmember. <\/p>\n
We are looking for one volunteer to become the Board of Trustee and
\none Photographer for our TCD. If anyone interested in a position,
\nplease email Scott, the president at president@texomadeafclub.org<\/p>\n
. We are looking for one of Board of Trustee and Photographer who is
\nwilling and motivated to fill this position.<\/p>\n
TCD is a non-profit organization with section 501 (c) (3) and we do
\nhave a fund if you wish to send money order or check to us. Please
\nmake sure to note that it is specifically for the fund on your
\ncheck\/money order. <\/p>\n
