SWCID REUNION 2010 <\/p>\n

Sorry for the delay in this newsletter report. Christine and Lisa
\nwere very busy getting things ready and we still talking about
\nyearbook, t-shirt, SWCID activities, and other stuff to do. <\/p>\n
We would like to announce that we have already sent an email to the
\nProvost of SWCID last week or two weeks ago (early week of August) . I
\nwould like to say thank you to Christine Kamal and Renee Bartsch for
\nhelping me out with the Provost’s letter. Also the Provost is coming
\nback to the school campus in Big Spring, Texas since he was on the
\nEast Coast.<\/p>\n
On August 26, 2008, Mark Myers the Provost from SWCID finally called
\non the videophone to Christine Kamal that evening, and he said he is
\neager to be involved and has approved for us to use the SWCID building
\nfor SWCID REUNION 2010 in the summer time. That\u2019s really great news!
\nPlease be prepared to start saving your money for airline tickets, car
\nrental, hotels\/motels, beverage\/foods, and other stuff. <\/p>\n
Mark the Provost told Christine that he is expecting a lot of people
\nto come to Big Spring, Texas for the summer 2010 more than 500 people.
\nLisa want to show everyone that if you want to have or do you want to
\nshow our best recorded history of SWCID Reunion in 2010. Come and
\nSupport. Lisa wants everyone to come and hopefully that dream will
\ncome true with more than a 1000 people or so. <\/p>\n
Christine and Lisa are working on the SWCID REUNION yearbook. Lisa
\nhas been talking to many different companies and found several
\ncompanies that offered some cheap prices with 500 pages. It is not as
\nbad as it sounds. Lisa has not yet decided which of those companies we
\nshould choose. She is still looking for a yearbook company. Christine
\nis looking for special software programs for her computer. Christine
\nand Lisa are still discussing more details for the yearbook plans.
\nThere is a lot of work to do. We have plenty time to do that until
\n2010. Hopefully it will look good. <\/p>\n
Lisa will be looking at some stores about T-shirts. Some people said
\nthat they want to have sewing (embroidery) than print (paint). The
\nprint (paint) won’t last long because it will fade out later. The
\nsewing (embroidery) will last longer. Remember the sewing (embroidery)
\nprice is a little more expensive. It is on depend on you if you can
\nafford to buy expensive shirt with sewing. If they want sewing, we
\nwill have Polo shirts not T-shirt. I will have both polo shirt with
\nsewing and print with T-shirt just in case. <\/p>\n
Please send your old pictures from SWCID since 1980. We will take
\ncare of it. Please do not send me your orginial (first real) photos
\nbecause the pictures will not return to you. Please send us a ” copy
\n“of your photos. The photos will kept in the draft yearbook to be sent
\nto the yearbook company for printing. When you send us your “copied”
\nphotos, please write in the back of your photo the names of the
\npersons or people who appear in the photos and what kind of activities
\nit was or where the photo was taken and what year. Best suggestion
\nthat you type a label and stick it on the back of the photo. If you
\nwant your photos to be in the yearbook, then we suggest you hurry and
\nmake copies and send them to us so that they can be in the yearbook,
\nif you miss out to send us your photos then too bad! Lisa wants
\neveryone to have the best looking yearbook for everyone, so that we
\nall can have good memories of SWCID. <\/p>\n
Please send your re-print photos before May 31, 2009.Christine and
\nLisa will work on the yearbook to avoid “unfinish” business yearbook.
\nWe want to finish the yearbook once SWCID Reunion is done in 2010,
\nwhich will involve taking new pictures to be added to the unfinished
\nyearbook.
\nChristine and Lisa already received the listed of student that was
\n1980 to 1990. Lisa has counted and there were more than 600 people on
\nthe list.. She will email them again that we want to have the list
\nfrom 1980 to present. Sounds like the count that must be over one
\nthousand names since. Remember we can not promise that everyone will
\ncome or not. <\/p>\n
Two more things that need to be brought to attention. We need your
\nhelp with the logo for the front cover of the yearbook and T-shirt.
\nPease help before December 31, 2008. We will pick the best logo by
\npopular votes, for yearbook and T-shirt, we will send you a winner’s
\ngift. We have not yet decided on the prize. We will have a surprise
\nprize for the winner. Maybe there will have two different winner’s
\ngift for yearbook logo and tshirt logo. Who knows? <\/p>\n
We need your help to vote on which dates do you prefer to come in Big
\nSpring, Texas on July 2010:<\/p>\n
1. July 8 to 11, 2010 <\/p>\n
2. July 15 – 18, 2010 <\/p>\n
3. July 22 – 25, 2010<\/p>\n
*** Polo Shirts -We would like to know what color everyone wants to
\nhave for the Polo Shirts with embroidery ( sewing). What color do you
\nsuggest? Please give us your feed back as soon as possible. For
\nexample Dark Hunter Green Polo Shirt with gold embroidery letters
\nsewed on to Polo Shirt etc. <\/p>\n
*** Raffles – We would like to ask what everyone wants to see for the
\nraffle drawings, for example like : TV ? Cameras ? Laptop? DVD Player?
\nWii Games? or whatever? We would like your feedback as well. Please
\nlet us know so that we can prepare the raffles tickets and also sell
\ndoor prizes they will be different from raffle tickets. <\/p>\n
We need your help to know what events or activities that you would
\nlike to see? Do you want to see or meet famous person. For examples,
\nKen Davis, deaf newspaper, — or Joel from Deaf Nation, or Mark
\nMorales from Deaf Aztec or else. Let me know. I can contact them if
\nthey can come or not. We will announce as soon as we can. <\/p>\n
We ( Lisa and Christine ) will come to Big Spring, Texas to meet some
\nstaff to discuss about July 2010. We need some volunteer to help us
\nfor the weekend when the SWCID Reunion takes place in 2010.. We have
\nmany issues to do for SWCID Reunion. <\/p>\n
If you would like to help us, and be involved with the SWCID Reunion,
\nwe welcome your help. We need your help as feedback, suggestions, new
\nideas and comments. We would love to hear from you and we are thankful
\nfor all your help and feedbacks. <\/p>\n
