A Message from the DAD President 8\/4\/08<\/p>\n
Hello DAD Members and Friends, <\/p>\n
It was so good to see many of you during my recent two weeks in the
\nDallas area. And I miss you all again. I had to return to Wisconsin
\nagain to care for my mother.. <\/p>\n
When I first walked inside the DAD Clubhouse, I was so impressed at
\nhow the floor looked with the new tiles. It certainly gives the whole
\nbar area a much needed uplift feeling along with the new bar. <\/p>\n
DAD is blessed to have these three very hard working guys, Preston
\nAshley Jr., Preston Ashley Sr., and Mitchel Bien. Imagine them on
\ntheir knees, nearly everyday, removing the old tiles and getting new
\ntiles all set. They had to be patient to make sure that the tiles fit
\nperfectly around the poles and\/or trim them to the right size, or else
\nthe tiles would chip or crack. Then they had to do the smoothing out
\nthe grouts in between the tiles. <\/p>\n
DAD had a few guys who came and help whenever they were able to:
\nDavid Normand, Kent Reneau and Chris Nicolay. Then there’s Maxine
\nSatarino, Laura Lemmon-Moore, Marianne Sasseen, Cindi Nagy, and Susan
\nLane who came in and cleaned, dusted, and swept after the guys
\ncompleted their work before any of DAD’s weekend events. <\/p>\n
Hey, have you checked out the restroom yet? It’s a JOY to walk into
\nnow and be able to feel good sitting on one of the toilets. Maybe it
\nsounds silly to you reading this but I know that the DAD Members and
\nfriends would agree with me! Those who haven’t been to DAD for a long
\ntime, <\/p>\n
COME and VISIT! And a very special thanks goes to Alfredo Gonzales
\nwho’s an expert in doing compound joint and paint in the restrooms. <\/p>\n
The renovation is still on-going. As of now, the guys could only
\ncomplete the tiles in the bar area, restrooms and admission area. The
\nguys really need help in removing the old tiles from the recreation
\ncenter area. Since the money has run low, we need some more donations
\nin order to purchase more grout bags and sealers. Donations will help
\nto complete the recreation center area. For anyone who donate over
\n$100 you will receive a thank you donation letter for your 2008 tax
\nwrite off. <\/p>\n
DAD almost had a couple possible winners at the previous CINGO! Some
\nof us are already are anxious to come to the next CINGO and hope to
\nbecome one of the big WINNERS. It would be a great to win some money
\nfor some Christmas shopping for one, two or three winners. <\/p>\n
Speaking of Christmas, the Winter Holiday for the Children committee
\nrolled up their sleeves and are getting their gears going. We had a
\nsuccessful party for the children last year and we are hoping for
\nanother great holiday celebration for the children again this year on <\/p>\n
December 20th. If any of you are interested in participating and\/or
