Draganac-Hawk and Kirsten<br \/>\nPoston, at the first meeting of the new term, held at August 21-23,<br \/>\n2008 at the NAD Headquarters. Both will serve for two years. <\/p>\n<p>Elections for the 2008-2010 Board of Directors were held at the<br \/>\nrecent 49th Biennial NAD Conference, held July 7-11, 2008 in New<br \/>\nOrleans, LA. Board members are: Bobbie Beth Scoggins, President;<br \/>\nChristopher D. Wagner, Vice President; Lynn Z. Null, Secretary; and<br \/>\nRonald E. Sutcliffe, Treasurer. Regional representatives are as<br \/>\nfollows: Region I \u2013 Julie C. Bourne and Sean Gerlis; Region II \u2013<br \/>\nJack L. Cooper and Michael K. Berger; Region III \u2013 Lissette M.<br \/>\nMolina and Liz Hill; Region IV \u2013 Astrid Amann Goodstein and James<br \/>\n\u201cManny\u201d Johnson. Nancy J. Bloch, Chief Executive Officer serves as<br \/>\nex officio member of the board. <\/p>\n<p>Melissa S. Draganac-Hawk brings a wealth of experience, with two BA<br \/>\ndegrees in Production\/Performance and American Sign Language and a MA<br \/>\ndegree in Linguistics from Gallaudet University. She currently serves<br \/>\nas executive director of Deaf Woman United (DWU) and as president of<br \/>\nthe National Council of Hispano Deaf and Hard of Hearing &#8211; Fray Pedro<br \/>\nPonce de Leon (NCHDHH). In addition, she has taught American Sign<br \/>\nLanguage for 12 years and this fall she will begin teaching at the<br \/>\nUniversity of Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n<p>Kirsten Poston also brings her personal expertise on disability<br \/>\npolicy issues, having been employed at the federal level for the past<br \/>\n17 years. She received her BA degree in Communication Arts from<br \/>\nGallaudet University, and has been responsible for conferences such as<br \/>\nthe Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Government 2008 Employment and<br \/>\nTechnology Forum and observances of National Disability Employment<br \/>\nAwareness Month. She currently serves on the board of Deaf and Hard of<br \/>\nHearing in Government (DHHIG). <\/p>\n<p>The NAD Board of Directors meets three times yearly in various parts<br \/>\nof the country.
