Greetings! <\/p>\n
You may have heard or received mail from Woodhaven concerning The
\nLillian Beard Deaf Connection Center. We are very excited and want you
\nto be aware and involved as our plans continue to develop. God has
\nblessed us with tremendous facilities. We want to share this blessing
\nand gift with the deaf community of Houston. Therefore, we are
\nconverting our entire east wing in a multi-service center for the deaf
\ncommnity. <\/p>\n
These services will include: <\/p>\n
1. Life Management Skills (X) Meets every Tues. and Thurs 10 A.M.
\ntill 3:00 P.M. <\/p>\n
2. Addiction Recovery and Support (X) Meets every Wednesday @ 6:30
\nP.M. <\/p>\n
3. Ex-Offender Service. s (Probation Office in the Church) <\/p>\n
4. Food and Clothing Bank (X) Open Soon! <\/p>\n
5. Sign Language Training (X) Every Monday 10 A. M. Till 12 noon <\/p>\n
6. Self Help Center <\/p>\n
7. Coffee House\/Deaf Theater <\/p>\n

Special Events: <\/p>\n
1. For awareness and building unity in the community, Woodhaven is
\nhosting a “Deaf Community Services Day” on Saturday September 27, 2008
\nfrom 10:00 A.M. till 4:00 P.M. <\/p>\n
We are inviting all agencies and organizations who serve the deaf
\nCommunity to set up their tables and booths at Woodhaven. The purpose
\nis to network, share, promote, enlist, and fellowship. We will have
\nfood available, host several panel discussions, provide skits\/story
\ntelling, and deaf music. <\/p>\n
2. Many of you are aware that Miss Lillian Beard will turn 100 years
\nold on October 18th. Woodhaven will help celebrate her birthday by
\nhosting a huge Fall Festival on Saturday, October 18th. There will be
\ngames, booths, food, great door prizes, entertainment, and much more.
\nThen on Sunday, October 19th <\/p>\n
Woodhaven will have a great birthday party for Miss Lillian, cover
\ndish meal, cake cutting, great worship, and dedication of The Lillian
\nBeard Deaf Connection Center. <\/p>\n
