Join NAD and NTD for Bernard Bragg\u2019s 80th Birthday Bash! <\/p>\n

SILVER SPRING, MD \u2013 Join us for an extraordinary evening on
\nSaturday, October 4, 2008, for Bernard Bragg\u2019s 80th Birthday Bash,
\nat Gallaudet University\u2019s Kellogg Conference Center! This unique
\ncelebration and fundraiser is being organized by and will benefit the
\nNational Association of the Deaf (NAD) and the National Theatre of the
\nDeaf (NTD). A similar event will be held in Los Angeles that will
\nbenefit the NAD and Deaf West Theatre. <\/p>\n
Take a video \u201cwalk\u201d through Bernard\u2019s distinguished career as
\nperformer, playwright\/director, artist, and poet as you mix and mingle
\nwith friends and colleagues during pre-dinner cocktail hour at 6 pm,
\nfollowed by a delicious buffet banquet at 7 pm, complete with birthday
\ncake. Cameras at every table will allow for group photos that will be
\nincluded in a keepsake album, for Bernard to cherish for many more
\nyears to come. <\/p>\n
You\u2019ll be captivated by Stephen Weiner, Gallaudet provost and emcee
\nfor the post-dinner program, as he provides enlightening tidbits and
\norchestrates the \u201croasting\u201d of Bernard by Bobbie Beth Scoggins,
\nNAD president; Jane Norman, Gallaudet professor and media expert;
\nTaras Denis, longtime friend; Harvey Corson, NTD board chair and
\nformer NAD board member; and John Basinger, one of the NTD originals.
\nWelcoming remarks will be provided by Nancy J. Bloch, NAD chief
\nexecutive officer; Aaron Kubey, NTD executive director; Robert R.
\nDavila, Gallaudet president; and T. Alan Hurwitz, National Technical
\nInstitute for the Deaf (NTID) president. Special entertainment will be
\nprovided by Rathskellar. <\/p>\n
