Mexican-American Parents of D\/deaf and HoH children needed<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a bilingual message (English-Spanish)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Welcome to the RGV Parent Survey!<\/strong><\/p>\n

You are invited to participate in a research study about families of deaf and hard of hearing children living the Rio Grande Valley conducted by Yessica S. Rodr\u00edguez, Doctoral Student in the Psychology Department at Gallaudet University. We’d love to hear from you about what it is like to raise a D\/deaf or Hard of Hearing child and how we can improve our community together. We believe the results of this study will have tremendous significance, and your participation is critical to its success.<\/p>\n

This is a three-part survey:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Consent to Participate Form<\/strong> – which informs you about the survey and the details of the process.<\/li>\n
  2. Parent Survey<\/strong> – If you agree to provide your consent for this project, the survey will automatically present you with the parent survey. It will ask some background and family questions regarding your child.<\/li>\n
  3. Payment Form<\/strong> \u2013 Finally, we are offering a $20 Amazon or Walmart electronic gift card as an expression of appreciation for your participation in this research project! When all three parts of the survey are completed, we will be pleased to send you the $20 gift card of your choice to show our appreciation for your involvement in our important research. We will ask you to fill out this form to choose the eGift Card and provide your email address to send it to you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The entire process should not require more than 45 minutes of your time and your responses are\u00a0completely confidential. You can only take the survey once. The survey is available in English, Spanish, or American Sign Language (available via videoconference interview only). You can find the survey online at https:\/\/is.gd\/rgvparentstudy<\/a> in English and Spanish and will need to email rgvparentstudy@gallaudet.edu to request the password to gain access to the survey. A paper and pencil survey can be mailed to you by requesting one at rgvparentstudy@gallaudet.edu, if you prefer. This research has been reviewed and approved by the Gallaudet IRB according to formal procedures governing your participation in this research.     Est\u00e1 invitado(a) a participar en un estudio de investigaci\u00f3n sobre familias de ni\u00f1os sordos y con problemas de audici\u00f3n que viven en el Valle del R\u00edo Grande, realizado por Yessica S. Rodr\u00edguez, Estudiante de Doctorado en el Departamento de Psicolog\u00eda Cl\u00ednica de la Universidad de Gallaudet. Nos encantar\u00eda saber su opini\u00f3n de c\u00f3mo es criar a un ni\u00f1o sordo o con perdida auditiva y c\u00f3mo podemos mejorar nuestra comunidad juntos. Creemos que los resultados de este estudio ser\u00e1n de suma importancia, y su participaci\u00f3n es fundamental para su \u00e9xito.<\/p>\n

    Esta es una encuesta de tres partes:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Formulario de consentimiento para participar:<\/strong> Le informa sobre la encuesta y los detalles del proceso.<\/li>\n
    2. Encuesta para padres:<\/strong> Si acepta dar su consentimiento para este proyecto, la encuesta le presentar\u00e1 autom\u00e1ticamente la encuesta para padres. Se le har\u00e1n algunas preguntas del historial de su familia y el desarrollo de su ni\u00f1o(a).<\/li>\n
    3. Forma de pago:<\/strong> \u00a1Finalmente, estamos ofreciendo una tarjeta de regalo electr\u00f3nica de Amazon o Wal-Mart de $20 como agradecimiento a su participaci\u00f3n en este proyecto de investigaci\u00f3n! Cuando termine y someta las tres partes de esta encuesta, estaremos encantados de enviarle la tarjeta de regalo de $20 de su elecci\u00f3n para mostrar nuestro agradecimiento por su participaci\u00f3n en esta investigaci\u00f3n tan importante.
