The<br \/>\nGrammy award-winning group brings their special blend of spirituals,<br \/>\nhymns, gospel, jazz and blues to The Majestic Theatre in Downtown<br \/>\nDallas on Friday, October 3rd at 7:30 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Firmly rooted in the sacred music of the black church, and committed<br \/>\nto creating music out of the rich textures of African-American legacy<br \/>\nand traditions, Sweet Honey in the Rock possesses a stunning vocal<br \/>\nprowess that captures the complex sounds of the blues, spirituals,<br \/>\ntraditional gospel hymns, rap, reggae, African chants, hip-hop,<br \/>\nancient lullabies and jazz improvisation. <\/p>\n<p>Founded by Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon at the D.C. Black Repertory<br \/>\nTheater, Sweet Honey in the Rock has been a vital and innovative<br \/>\npresence in the music culture of Washington D.C., as well as in<br \/>\ncommunities around the world.
