With these funds, we are hoping to recruit Deaf and hard of hearing children from all over the United States, flying in families to Nashville for the weekend to take part in our study. We hope that this study will inform educators and parents on the importance of language and to support the development of early literacy interventions.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking to recruit approximately 200 DHH children between the ages of 10 &#8211; 16 of varying communication preferences and hearing statuses. Participants also cannot have a cochlear implant due to the use of MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging, a non-invasive, safe, brain imaging technique). I&#8217;d be happy to talk more about our project via email, zoom, or phone (724-822-9119) in ASL or English.
