SPIRIT WEEK KICKS OFF HOMECOMING FESTIVITIES AT TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE
\nDEAF <\/p>\n
EXCITEMENT BUILDS AS PRE-GAME EVENTS FILL THE WEEK LEADING TO HEATED
\nRIVALRY <\/p>\n
Austin, Texas \u2013 September 29, 2008 The Texas School for the Deaf
\n(TSD) gets in the homecoming spirit today as Spirit Week kicks off. A
\ntheme is selected for each day of Spirit Week. Freshmen, sophomores,
\njuniors and seniors dress up accordingly in spirited regalia.
\nTogether, each class competes and is judged for the most spirit each
\nday. Then, during Friday\u2019s pep rally, the class with the most wins
\nfrom Spirit Week takes ownership of the coveted Spirit Award to call
\ntheir own until it must be passed on next year. The winning class also
\nreceives a cash prize for their class activity fund. <\/p>\n
Texas School for the Deaf, located at 1102 South Congress Avenue,
\nhosts rival, Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD), on Saturday, October
\n4. With former TSD football coach Andrew Bonheyo now leading the MSD
\nOrioles, there is much to anticipate as kick-off Saturday evening at
\n5:30 pm nears. The 2008 TSD Homecoming court will be crowned during
\nhalf time. TSD Homecomings are more than just about an exciting
\nfootball game. Rooted in long-standing tradition, each year, students,
\nfamilies, friends and alumni converge upon TSD to celebrate together
\nfor a full day of pre-game activities and reconnect with friends,
\nteachers and classmates. TSD welcomes the public to join us. <\/p>\n

Friday, October 3 1:00 pm TSD Pep Rally Seeger Gym at TSD <\/p>\n
7:00 pm Deaf American Idol Competition R.L. Davis Auditorium at TSD <\/p>\n
(General Admission $5) <\/p>\n
Saturday, October 4 10:00 am-4:00 pm TSD Homecoming Festival and
\nCarnival TSD Campus Mall <\/p>\n
(General Admission $7; Sr Citizens\/students $5; TSD students $3; Kids
\n5 & under FREE) <\/p>\n
Varsity and JV Volleyball Seeger Gym at TSD <\/p>\n
10:00 am Hyde Park JV vs. TSD <\/p>\n
