SPONSORS, PARTNERS SET FOR HISTORIC FIRST DEAF AUTHORS BOOK FESTIVAL\u00a0<\/strong><\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 The first Deaf Authors Book Festival (DABF), scheduled May 6-7, 2022 at Texas School for the Deaf (TSD), is set to be historic with the support of sponsors and partners.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Steve Baldwin, Deaf Texas Foundation president, producer, and co-host of DABF, shares his optimism in receiving more support for the event.<\/gwmw><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe goal is to raise $47,000 for this literary event.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are halfway there as of early March, and we\u2019re hopeful that a few more sponsors will sign on to make this event a success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Deaf Authors Book Festival<\/a>\u00a0brings together contemporary authors who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, and BIPOC from across the United States for the first event in Austin, Texas. The event, free to the public, is co-hosted by\u00a0Texas School for the Deaf<\/a>\u00a0Superintendent, Claire Bugen, and\u00a0Deaf Television Foundation<\/a>\u00a0President, Dr. Steve Baldwin, with support from the National Association of the Deaf\u2019s\u00a0Deaf Culture & History Section<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
