Climate group offers ASL interpretation for volunteers<\/strong><\/p>\n

National climate organization now offers ASL interpretation at monthly event<\/p>\n

Citizens\u2019 Climate Lobby (CCL) now offers ASL interpretation on its monthly organizing call for grassroots volunteers nationwide. Interpreting services are provided by Civic Access, a Deaf-owned organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristina McMurry offers a critical service, and we\u2019re grateful to them and their team for working with us to create a more accessible space and provide effective communication for Deaf and hard of hearing folks who are part of the climate advocacy community,\u201d said Patricia Rubio, CCL Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator.<\/p>\n

CCL\u2019s monthly call takes place every second Saturday of the month on Zoom at 1 p.m. ET \/ 10 a.m.<\/strong> PT. CCL volunteers and other viewers dial in via Zoom to hear the latest updates from our organization\u2019s climate work, actions they can take in the upcoming month, and a message from a guest speaker<\/a>. Anyone interested in learning more about Citizens\u2019 Climate Lobby\u2019s work can join the call at http:\/\/www.cclusa.org\/meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to add this feature to our monthly calls so that members of the Deaf community can engage more fully with climate advocacy,\u201d said Don Addu, CCL Senior Director of Programs. \u201cGrassroots climate organizing is stronger and more effective when every American is included and can participate in pushing our elected leaders for action.\u201d<\/p>\n
