RIT Sponsors National Art Competition for Students with Hearing Loss <\/p>\n
(Sept. 30, 2008) – Rochester Institute of Technology announces its
\nthird annual Digital Arts, Film and Animation Competition for high
\nschool students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. <\/p>\n
Students with hearing loss in grades 9-12 can compete for cash prizes
\nand an all-expenses-paid trip for two to RIT\u2019s National Technical
\nInstitute for the Deaf for the awards ceremony and an exhibition of
\ntheir work. <\/p>\n
This national competition recognizes students\u2019 artistic expression
\nwith awards in seven categories: Film, Mixed Digital Media, Web Page
\nDesign, Graphic Media, 3-D Animation, Interactive Media and Photo
\nIllustration. First place winners in each category will win $250 and
\ntransportation to Rochester, lodging and meals for two. <\/p>\n
Students may submit up to two entries. Entry forms, contest rules and
\nother details are available at http:\/\/www.rit.edu\/NTID\/ArtsNR
\n. The submission deadline is December 15, 2008. <\/p>\n
RIT is internationally recognized as a leader in computing,
\nengineering, imaging technology, and fine and applied arts programs,
\nand for providing unparalleled support services for students with
\nhearing loss. RIT is home to the National Technical Institute for the
\nDeaf, where more than 1,300 students with hearing loss from around the
\nworld study, live, and socialize with 15,000 hearing students on
\nRIT\u2019s Rochester, N.Y., campus. <\/p>\n
