STUDENTS DELIVER HOLIDAY COOKIES TO STATE LEADERS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday, December 14, 2022<\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 December 14, 2022 \u2013 Today, students from Texas School for the Deaf\u2019s (TSD) Culinary Arts program visit the Texas Capitol delivering homemade goodies to state leaders in time for the holidays – a tradition the school began more than 25 years ago.<\/p>\n

Baked and packaged by TSD\u2019s future chefs themselves, the selection of holiday treats this year includes chocolate chip cookies, German snowballs, Texas stars, classic butter cookies, and candy cane cookies, all designed to thank TSD\u2019s partner agencies, legislators and staffers for their hard work and support.<\/p>\n

TSD Superintendent, Claire Bugen says, \u201cThis is an important tradition to recognize our state leaders for their continued support of our school, our students and for all Texas deaf and hard of hearing students.\u201d<\/p>\n

With plans to meet with some legislators along the way, students start the day early to cover all of the Capitol legislative offices.<\/p>\n
