Fundraising Campaign<\/p><\/div>\n

Hey Everyone! My name is L.A., I’m an Actor, Writer, Director, Producer, Sign-Singer and the Founder of M.E.W Productions. Since 2004, I have been creating meaningful stories for both film, stage, teaching sign language workshops, and also performing throughout the South and Midwest. I earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in 2008, while attending Grambling State University, where I studied Theater and Minored in Deaf Education.<\/p>\n

On January 15, 2022, M.E.W Productions was founded; since then, we have produced Mystery Man, a short film SELECTED at the Denton Black Film Festival, a SEMI-FINALIST at the Paris International Short Film Festival, SELECTED at the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase, and an AWARD WINNER at the Milestone International Film Festival! On May 12, 2023, we collaborated with The Writer\u2019s Garret, a Literary Non-Profit to Co-Produce the first ever Dallas Is Lit: Hear Me, See Me! A performance combing American Sign Language (ASL), Spanish, and English, in an exploration of the possibilities of self expression, the power of poetry, and connecting people through the power of language. I’m even more EXCITED to announce my script, The 50\u00a2 Jewelry Line, an Inspirational Comedy, has been SELECTED for the Houston Black Theatre Week! The performances will be held on September 21 & 23, 2023 at the Historic Deluxe Theatre 3303 Lyons Ave. Houston, TX 77020.<\/p>\n

M.E.W Productions is launching a Fundraising Campaign June 1-30, 2023 to offset the cost to produce this stage production. The goal is $5,000, which will go toward: travel expenses, Airbnb, food, marketing material, insurance, stage manager, cast & crew, rehearsal space, original music, wardrobe, props, hair & make-up, sign-language interpreters, photographer, videographer, speaking engagements, and produce a quality work.
