Hello DAD Members and Friends, <\/p>\n
Some of you attended HAVA, Helping America Vote Act of 2002, on Sep.
\n19, which was presented by DARS. If you desire to learn more about

At our last General Members meeting, I was thrilled to learn that we
\nhave over 300 members! That\u2019s nearly three times more than when I
\nfirst joined DAD back in 2005! <\/p>\n
I thank every one of you for joining and I do hope you will continue
\nyour membership for many more years. I feel it is important for us,
\nDeaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing individuals, to continue showing our
\nsupport to ANY Deaf\/HOH organization\/club. That\u2019s where we can meet,
\nshare, grow and learn from each other. <\/p>\n
I have been here in Wisconsin for past few months and I continue at
\nmy best with communicating with the DAD officers and board members
\nabout what\u2019s happening. It\u2019s a blessing we have pagers, emails,
\nand videophones! <\/p>\n
I want to emphasize to you all, \u201cI DO MISS YOU and DAD very
\nmuch!!\u201d I have wondered, on many weekends, \u201chow is DAD doing
\nand\/or how did the program\/event go?\u201d I do have some guilt feeling
\nfor disappearing which was quite unexpected by many of us. <\/p>\n
I served three wonderful years as one of the Officers of DAD. Let me
\nshare this with you; To run any organization is not an one person
\nshow, it takes a TEAM of officers, board and committees. To make an
\norganization looking so good is to have SEVERAL PEOPLE working
\ntogether. I encourage you, DAD Members, to come to our next General
\nMeeting because we will have Election on Oct. 24 @ 7:30PM. We need a
\nTEAM to keep DAD going STRONG and BEAUITFUL! <\/p>\n
Living here in Wisconsin, we have already hit the autumn season due
\nto the temperatures dropping to 50\u2019s-60\u2019s. Of course, our leaves
\nare turning in beautiful colors. Brrrrrrrrr, I had to run out and buy
\nmyself some winter clothes because I didn\u2019t have any after living in
\nthe nice warm autumn\/winters=2 0in TX! No more Capris for me until it
\nwarm up again. How I envy you Texans! <\/p>\n
I do want to give many thanks to Cindi Nagy, Secretary, who has
\nresumed one of my duties, which is filling the weekends up with
\nvarious programs\/events. There are some exciting events, which you may
\nwant to attend, at least one if not all of them. I also appreciate
\nMarianne Sasseen, who has been taking a larger step in the Presidency
\nrole, several times, Kent Reneau, Maxine Satarino and Preston Ashley,
\nSr. for ensuring DAD is running in order; as well as, Laura
\nLemmon-Moore, Ken Seabolt and Susan Lane. Also appreciate David
\nNormand continuing his duties at the bar. <\/p>\n
And I know at this time of the year we become busy with the
\nchildren\u2019s school activities and the Christmas shopping, in between.
\nI do want to let you know that DAD is having a couple of events, where
\nchildren may attend. They are the Halloween Party, Oct. 25th, and The
\nWinter Holiday Party for the Children, Dec 20th. Then we will have a
\nWinter Bazaar where you can shop for a few things at one place, Nov.
\n15th! <\/p>\n
