If you desire to learn more about
this voting process, please do click the following website;
http://www.overstream.net/view.php?oid=usr3ecimmsi4&query=tracey+michol&s=search&pt=1&pn=1&pc=1&pu=1&pl=-1&related=search&skip=0
. That video was sent to me at the courtesy of Crazy Tech, Texas
Association of the Deaf and Tracey Michol.

At our last General Members meeting, I was thrilled to learn that we
have over 300 members! That’s nearly three times more than when I
first joined DAD back in 2005!

I thank every one of you for joining and I do hope you will continue
your membership for many more years. I feel it is important for us,
Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing individuals, to continue showing our
support to ANY Deaf/HOH organization/club. That’s where we can meet,
share, grow and learn from each other.

I have been here in Wisconsin for past few months and I continue at
my best with communicating with the DAD officers and board members
about what’s happening. It’s a blessing we have pagers, emails,
and videophones!

I want to emphasize to you all, “I DO MISS YOU and DAD very
much!!” I have wondered, on many weekends, “how is DAD doing
and/or how did the program/event go?” I do have some guilt feeling
for disappearing which was quite unexpected by many of us.

I served three wonderful years as one of the Officers of DAD. Let me
share this with you; To run any organization is not an one person
show, it takes a TEAM of officers, board and committees. To make an
organization looking so good is to have SEVERAL PEOPLE working
together. I encourage you, DAD Members, to come to our next General
Meeting because we will have Election on Oct. 24 @ 7:30PM. We need a
TEAM to keep DAD going STRONG and BEAUITFUL!

Living here in Wisconsin, we have already hit the autumn season due
to the temperatures dropping to 50’s-60’s. Of course, our leaves
are turning in beautiful colors. Brrrrrrrrr, I had to run out and buy
myself some winter clothes because I didn’t have any after living in
the nice warm autumn/winters=2 0in TX! No more Capris for me until it
warm up again. How I envy you Texans!

I do want to give many thanks to Cindi Nagy, Secretary, who has
resumed one of my duties, which is filling the weekends up with
various programs/events. There are some exciting events, which you may
want to attend, at least one if not all of them. I also appreciate
Marianne Sasseen, who has been taking a larger step in the Presidency
role, several times, Kent Reneau, Maxine Satarino and Preston Ashley,
Sr. for ensuring DAD is running in order; as well as, Laura
Lemmon-Moore, Ken Seabolt and Susan Lane. Also appreciate David
Normand continuing his duties at the bar.

And I know at this time of the year we become busy with the
children’s school activities and the Christmas shopping, in between.
I do want to let you know that DAD is having a couple of events, where
children may attend. They are the Halloween Party, Oct. 25th, and The
Winter Holiday Party for the Children, Dec 20th. Then we will have a
Winter Bazaar where you can shop for a few things at one place, Nov.
15th!

Here are some of our upcoming events at DAD:

October 10 – ADA Workshop (8:00PM)

October 11 – HEALTH FAIR (10 AM – 4 PM)

October 18 – CINGO (8:30 PM)

October 24 – DAD General Members & Election Meeting (7:30 PM)

October 25 – Halloween Party

November 1 – DAD Annual Awards Night (Appetizers, @6:30.
