Each year, the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation\u2019s Annual Big Event raises money to support deaf education throughout the great state of TEXAS. Contributions to this event help improve the lives of thousands of deaf and hard-of-hearing children.<\/p>\n

The Texas School for the Deaf Foundation (TSDF) raises funds to help bridge the gap between the Texas Legislature\u2019s biennial budget allocation to TSD and what is needed to provide excellent education services for deaf and hard-of-hearing children of Texas.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the event will feature TSD\u2019s Culinary Arts and Hospitality students working under the direction of a professional chef and an executive catering staff as they provide a delightful gourmet dining experience.<\/p>\n

The fundraising efforts of TSDF have a profound impact on the lives of 7,000 deaf and hard-of-hearing children in Texas. These impacts can be seen in various aspects:<\/p>\n

    1. Improved learning opportunities are provided for young children up to the age of 22.<\/li>\n
    2. Educational outreach programs are extended to families residing in 87 counties across Texas through the Statewide Outreach Center.<\/li>\n
    3. There are 550 students from all over Texas who attend school at TSD. Among them, 43% reside on campus and return home on weekends, while 70% of the students qualify for reduced or free lunch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
