STUDENTS DELIVER GRATITUDE & HOLIDAY TREATS TO STATE LEADERS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 November 30, 2023 \u2013 Today, students from Texas School for the Deaf\u2019s (TSD) Culinary Arts program visit the Texas Capitol delivering homemade goodies to state leaders in time for the holidays – a tradition the school began more than 25 years ago.<\/p>\n

Baked and packaged by TSD\u2019s future chefs, the selection of holiday treats this year includes chocolate chip cookies, corn shortbread cookies, peanut butter cookies, and star pie crust cookies, all designed to thank TSD\u2019s partner agencies, legislators and staffers for their hard work and support.<\/p>\n

TSD Superintendent, Peter Bailey says, \u201cThis is a favorite TSD tradition to commend and recognize our state leaders for their continued support of the school, and it\u2019s important for the students themselves to take a lead and meet face-to-face with lawmakers and staff members.\u201d<\/p>\n

With meetings planned with some key legislators along the way, students start the day early to cover all of the Capitol legislative offices and partner state agencies.<\/p>\n
