NEWSLETTER <\/p>\n
*** REMINDER — The Yearbooks will be sold for $ 65.00 per book, with
\n400 pages in black\/white and colors. The pictures in the yearbook will
\nshow from the following years in 1980 to present. We will be getting
\nsome collections of old photos and pictures from SWCID. SWCID staff
\nwill give it to us soon. Hopefully we can sell over 400 books and we
\nwill sell them until May 31, 2009. Then there will be extra $75.00
\nfrom June 1, 2009 to December 2009. If we don’t sell more than 400
\nbooks, the yearbooks may cost more. We encourage everyone to get one
\nfor your great memories in SWCID. We will add more photos to the
\nyearbook after our SWCID Reunion 2010 is finished in July so that you
\nwill have memories that you were there! <\/p>\n
*** REMINDER — Lisa Wynn has been speaking with some old ex-SWCID
\nstudents, and they are drawing “Logos” for the Yearbook and T-shirts \/
\nPolo Shirt designs. We can’t wait to see the designs. The vote will be
\ndecided by SWCID Staff which is the best design. The winner’s will be
\nannounced at the SWCID Reunion 2010. Come and join if you want to draw
\nand design new logo for the yearbook and T-Shirt \/ Polo Shirts, enter
\nfor your chance to win prizes. Remember we told you last time that
\nthere is a winner’s prize, it is not cheap. It will be a good prize
\nfor the Top Design. <\/p>\n
*** WEBSITE — We are currently working on our own Website for SWCID
\nReunion 2010. It is currently under construction, so that everyone can
\nlook at the website as soon as possible. We are trying our best. <\/p>\n
*** SPONSORS & DONATIONS — We are currently trying to raise funds
\nfor the sculpture of Dr. Douglas Burke. It has been since 1995, I
\nremember someone spoke about wanting a sculpture of Dr. Burke, but it
\nnever happened. I have lost contact with this person. I hope I can try
\nto get in touch with the person I am looking for. Today I am asking
\nfor sponsors and donations from anyone, and that would be great, and
\nit will go towards the sculpture of Dr. Douglas Burke to be placed on
\nSWCID campus. We are working on making a formal letter to send out to
\nsponsors or anyone who may want to help raise funds for this great
\nsculpture. Remember it is your school and to be proud of it to see Dr.
\nBurke there in sculpture. Let’s keep our fingers crossed in 2 years. <\/p>\n
*** T-SHIRTS \/ POLO SHIRTS — We are working with companies to see
\nwho is the best price for our t-shirts and polo shirts and other
\nmerchandise for sales. <\/p>\n
*** ENTERPRISES \/ VENDORS — Lisa Wynn is working on finding out who
\nwill be there at the SWCID Reunion 2010, we are trying to get as many
\nenterprises and vendors to come for the event. <\/p>\n
*** LOST AND FOUND — Lisa Wynn and Christine Kamal are continuing to
\nlook for old ex-SWCID students, and old ex-staff and faculty. Some of
\nthem don’t live in Texas, we have all people from all over the U.S.A.
\nand out of country. We are trying to catch them for their home
\naddresses and email addresses so we can send them information about
\nour reunion. Guess what some of them don’t know about the deaf network
\nor deaf newspaper websites. That is why we are working hard to find
\neveryone and catch them so that they can come join to our SWCID
\nReunion 2010. <\/p>\n
*** SAVE $$$$ — Remember start saving money every month for the next
\n1 1\/2 yr to 2 years for your SWCID Reunion 2010. Save money every
\nmonth for your airplane flight ticket, car rental, hotel \/ motels,
\ndorm overnight stays, food \/ meals, merchandise ( souvenirs) like
\nT-shirts and other things. We want you ! We want you to come and meet
\nold and new faces. Come see new SWCID Buildings today that are new and
\nour old buildings no longer there or have been replaced. <\/p>\n
*** Money Orders — If you need to send us the money order, make it
\npayable to ” Lisa Wynn ” or Chrisian Kamal (Please only money order
\n(for temporary) until we will be announced nearby the further). We
\nwill have the account ready. Do not forget to put a memo on your check
\nbottom left what it is for. For example: Yearbook, T-Shirt \/ Polo
\nShirt, Combo Ticket, Dorm, or Donations. Send your personal checks or

*** SWCID Reunion in July 2010 — When you come to the reunion, we
\nwill not accept your personal checks or money orders. We will take
\nCASH ONLY. We just want to remind you. We will keep selling yearbooks,
\ncombo tickets, T-shirts & Polo shirts and whatever we have until
\nDecember 31, 2009 for our security. We will only accept your money
\norders or personal checks until December 31, 2009. <\/p>\n
*** BIG SPRING, TEXAS — Lisa Wynn will be flying to meet Mark Myers
\nthe Provost of SWCID. We will be discussing plans for the SWCID
\nReunion 2010. Then again we will meet them in January or Febuary 2009
\nto discuss about the combo ticket sales and other things, before we
\nannounce to everyone in the newsletter or on our websites or deaf
\nnetwork or deaf newspaper websites. <\/p>\n
*** WHO MAY COME ? — Anyone is welcome to come, there is no limit.
\nFamily, Friends, Relatives, old ex-SWCID Students, old ex-faculty and
\nstaff, anyone is welcome. Come and have yourself a grand old time and
\nmingle with your family and friends. We encourage people from all
\nwalks of life, whether you are hearing or deaf, come and join us. The
\ncore focus for our reunion is to bring everyone together for the
\npurpose of socializing and most importantly having fun. <\/p>\n
