AUSTIN BUSINESSES SUPPORTING TEXAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sunday, September 22, 2024 \u2013 Saturday, September 28, 2024<\/p>\n

Austin, Texas \u2013 September 22-28, 2024 \u2014 Deaf Awareness Week, also known as the International Week of the Deaf, is celebrated during the last full week of September, culminating with the International Day of the Deaf.<\/p>\n

Deaf Awareness celebrations are encouraged to focus on the theme of Human Rights through Sign Languages, bringing attention to deaf culture and the achievements of deaf people portrayed in a positive way. The goal is to increase solidarity among deaf people and supporters, while promoting the rights of deaf people throughout the world.<\/p>\n

In the United States, celebrations are often held throughout the year, with Texas School for the Deaf (TSD) recognizing Deaf Awareness Week in September. Along with the National Association of the Deaf, TSD encourages the community to:<\/p>\n
