Interpreter Coordinator Job Vacancy <\/p>\n
with Richland College, a part of the Dallas County Community College
\nDistrict <\/p>\n
Interpreter II (Position No. 080810095) <\/p>\n
Salary: $3,231 \/ Month <\/p>\n
A full-time position (Days, but must be flexible for some evenings)
\nin the Disability Services Office. <\/p>\n
Duties include, but are not limited to: <\/p>\n
-Provides sign language interpretation for students who are deaf or
\nhard of hearing. <\/p>\n
-Develops and coordinates sign language interpreters, CART providers
\nand other services for student who are deaf or hard of hearing. <\/p>\n
-Performs sign language interpretation for hearing-impaired
\nstudents\/prospective students including lectures or other classroom
\ninstruction, meetings, registration, testing, tutoring, counseling,
\netc. <\/p>\n
-May assist in development of schedules for part-time interpreters,
\nnote-takers, tutors, etc. <\/p>\n
-May also assist in locating and evaluating part-time applicants to
\nfill vacancies in interpreter, tutor or note-taker positions. <\/p>\n
-May maintain related department records. <\/p>\n
-Performs related duties as assigned. <\/p>\n
Requirements: <\/p>\n
-Graduation from high school or equivalent plus a Level II
\nInterpreter Certification issued by the Texas Commission for the Deaf
\nand Hard of Hearing (TCDHH) Board for Evaluation of Interpreters or
\ncertification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
\n(NRID). <\/p>\n
-Follow the Interpreting Code of Ethics as established by the Texas
\nCommission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. <\/p>\n
-Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively
\nwith a wide variety of individuals from diverse socio-economic
\nbackgrounds. <\/p>\n
Evidence of certification will be required. <\/p>\n
A criminal background check will be conducted. <\/p>\n
