Broadway Ave., Tyler. <\/p>\n<p>Guest speaker will be Doug Dittfurth, TX DARS-Office for Deaf and<br \/>\nHard of Hearing Services, who will talk about the services his office<br \/>\nprovides to persons who are deaf or hard of hearing in Texas, said<br \/>\nDaphne Smith, HLA\/GTA vice president. <\/p>\n<p>The Hearing Loss Association of America is a nonprofit, educational<br \/>\nassociation that speaks out for people with hearing loss. The<br \/>\nassociation supports quality of communication and quality of life, Ms.<br \/>\nSmith said. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The local chapter (Greater Tyler Area) is made of people of every<br \/>\nage, from every walk of life who share one thing in common &#8212; a desire<br \/>\nto help people with hearing loss live better, fuller lives,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Monthly topic discussions include how to manage hearing loss,<br \/>\nassistive technology, services available, as well as other pertinent<br \/>\ntopics. People who are deaf, late deafened, or hard of hearing are<br \/>\nwelcome, as well as family, friends or professionals.
