RIT Announces Science Contest for Students with Hearing Loss<\/p>\n
Students with hearing loss in grades six through 12 can compete in
\nRochester Institute of Technology\u2019s fourth-annual National Science
\nFair for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students and win cash awards of up
\nto $500.<\/p>\n
Students can compete individually or as a two- or three-person team
\nand should submit their most interesting and challenging science
\nproject.<\/p>\n
To qualify, students must submit an entry form and a 250-word science
\nproject summary. Judges will choose finalists in both middle school
\nand high school divisions who will be invited to attend the Science
\nFair, March 20 \u2013 22, 2009, at RIT\u2019s National Technical Institute
\nfor the Deaf in Rochester, N.Y., to display their project and compete
\nfor first, second or third place in each division.<\/p>\n
More than 50 contestants from 14 schools in 10 states showed their
\nexhibits during the 2008 competition. Top winning subjects included
\n\u201cFirst and Second Hand Smoke,\u201d \u201cDoes the Insulation Really
\nWork?\u201d and \u201cHow Chemicals Contaminate Our Watersheds.\u201d<\/p>\n
